The Earth is the only known planet where life can exist. The environment here is suitable for living beings. Millions of species live in this planet as it has favourable conditions but unfortunately this planet is becoming uninhabitable for all living beings. 

The beautiful blue planet is at high risk. She is dying because of the irresponsible activities of human race. The atmosphere  is becoming highly polluted and irreversible. Two important elements of nature : water and air are in such devastating conditions that no living creatures can sustain any more . The emission of carbon is at the peak. People desperately are burning fossil fuel producing CFC,carbon di-oxide,  carbon mono-oxide, ozone and other harmful gases.  These gases destroy ozone layers leaving the life on earth vulnerable. 

On the other hand, water is also dangerously polluted. Chemicals using in agriculture sector, byproducts of industries are all washed up in water bodies and make the water life extremely perilous. Underground water layer is going  down for using it thoughtlessly. Many rivers are  dried up, even the great Nile is reported to be shrinking . Fresh water is a crisis all over the World.

Soil is also losing its productivity for over use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides and resulting in more barren land.

In spite of all these crisis natural forests have been destroying over the world. Illegal logging is one the burning issues.

World leaders have failed to take necessary steps to eleviate the crisis related to climatic changes.

"BANGLADESH 88" friends' group has decided to create a platform " Environmental Forum" which will take some initiatives to play necessary role.

Objectives of Environmental Forum

1. Create awareness for sustainable environment, 
2. Make people think about dos and don'ts 
3. Initiate some effective work in individual's and social life,
4. Educate future generation.

Ongoing activities:

Tree plantation program is going countrywide.

Next course of actions:

1. Awareness programs and campaigns planned to be taken on...
   a. Plastic management 
   b. Water, power, gas management
   c. Reducing noise pollution
   d. Practice of recycle, reuse and reproduction

2. Tree plantation program will be going on,
3. A plan to create at least a natural forest in every district.
4. Establishing a nature school for children.

The wing of BANGLADESH 88 "Environmental Forum" wants to help to set sustainable environment by involving every member to create some basic changes in individual's life as well as in the society. The members are expected to help resolve the environmental problems.
